Terms of service

These terms are for companies that use Croot to hire. They are short on purpose. A signed order form or agreement with Croot can add to or replace them.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between Croot (thecroot.com; legal entity and registered address to be added here) and the company that signs up to use Croot, “you” in these terms. By creating an account or using Croot you agree to them for your company. If you are signing up for a company, you confirm you can bind it.
The service
Croot is a hiring platform: a company plans a role, publishes a job, assesses applications against its own criteria, books interviews, sends offers and collects joining documents. We may improve, change or retire features, and we will give notice of a change that removes something you depend on.
Accounts
- You give us accurate details, and keep them up to date.
- Your administrators decide who in your company has an account and what each person can do. You are responsible for what people with your accounts do in Croot.
- Keep sign-in details safe. Tell us at tech@tronetechnology.com if you think an account has been misused.
Acceptable use
You will not:
- use Croot to break the law, including hiring and anti-discrimination law;
- use it to harass, deceive or unfairly exclude candidates;
- upload data you have no right to use, or malware;
- probe, overload or try to get around the security or limits of the service;
- resell the service or use it to build a competing one;
- rely on Croot to make the final decision about a person. A person at your company decides who is hired and what is offered.
Your data, and candidates’ data
You keep ownership of the data you put into Croot, including what candidates send to you. For the personal data of your candidates and employees, you decide why and how it is used, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis, giving candidates the notices they are owed, and answering their requests. Croot acts as your processor: we handle that data only to provide the service on your instructions, as described in our privacy policy. You give us a licence to process your data for that purpose.
If you connect a Google or Microsoft account, you confirm you are allowed to, and you can disconnect it at any time.
AI features
Croot uses AI to read applications and to run some interviews. Its output is help for your team, not advice or a guarantee, and may be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing it and for your hiring decisions.
Fees
Fees depend on the plan and add-ons you choose and are set out in your order form or plan. Details to be added.
Availability and support
We work to keep Croot available and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may take it down for maintenance and will try to tell you first.
No warranty
Croot is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not give any warranty, express or implied, including about fitness for a particular purpose or about the results of using AI.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Croot is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. The exact cap is to be confirmed.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Croot and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put the service or other people at risk, and we will tell you why where we can. When an account closes, we delete or return its data on the schedules in our privacy policy, unless the law or a legal hold says otherwise.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of a city in India, to be added here, have jurisdiction over disputes.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and tell your administrators in the product before it takes effect.
